Adding a doula to your birth team has shown to reduce the length of labour, reduce likelihood of caesarian, reduce the use of pain medication and increase feelings of satisfaction with your birth experience.

Adding a professional support person to your birth team is a very personal choice. We encourage you to interview doulas ahead of time to find out more about their services and supports.
